Date: February 2015 Bank of New York Mellon is the world’s largest custodian bank and asset servicing company. They provide investment management, investment services and wealth management that help institutions and individuals succeed in markets all over the world. They commissioned frog Design for a digital design overhaul.
My task was to follow the existing brand guidelines defined by frog Design and redesign BNY Mellon’s wealth management website.
Our design strategy was to conduct user research with high-income individuals and understand what might they might expect from a wealth management website. We based our redesigns on the insights we gained from extensive weeks of research. I designed detailed journey maps, with our insights, which informed our final designs.
I designed the site according to master brand guidelines. My team recommended BNY Mellon to commission a famous illustrator to illustrate their thought leaders. I also gave BNYM extensive guidelines on how to use photography and stock imagery on the news section of their site.
The site was implemented by BNY Mellon’s in-house developers, and unfortunately a few design defects were never addressed after the design went live, which compromised the design quality of the result. You can see the live site here.
